JOB OVERVIEW
Oatlands Park Hotel is hiring for a Reception Supervisor, reporting to the Reception Manager. You will have excellent customer service and leadership skills in this customer-facing role on the front desk of a busy 4-star hotel in Weybridge, Surrey. You will be responsible for overseeing a busy hotel reception front desk, leading a team and checking in/out hotel guests. This is a permanent role working 40 hours per week on a shifts basis. The usual shifts are 6:45am-3:15pm, 2:45pm-11:15pm, however there are sometimes mid-day shifts in accordance with business needs.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Be responsible for all team members, ensuring they operate to high standards of service
  • Provides guidance and direction for subordinates
  • Act as the first point of contact for the Reception team
  • Provides information to managers and other staff
  • Functions as a technical department resources, providing staff inductions and training for new starters
  • Check-in and check-out for guests
  • Undertake front of house duties - meeting, greeting and attending to guests needs
  • Build good rapport with guests and deal with customer complaints
  • Responsible for accurate and efficient accounts and guest billing processes
  • Administer all routes of reservation to ensure room bookings are made
REQUIRED SKILLS
  • Experience in using Opera Property Management System (PMS)
  • Working knowledge of using Microsoft Office
  • Demonstrate best practice and lead by example
  • Train and coach team members on the job
  • Demonstrate full knowledge of the Front Office SOPs (operating procedures and policies)
  • Verbal and written communication skills
  • Confident in communicating with managers and directors
  • Show guests to rooms and assist with luggage, as required
  • Be able to negotiate, persuade and deal with customer complaints
  • Efficient decision-making when selling room stock
  • You drive or live within a commutable distance of the hotel
REQUIRED EDUCATION
The successful applicant would hold a Hospitality qualification (desirable), or be working towards one.
