A lockdown 2 update from Oatlands Park Hotel
Following the Government’s announcement on 31st October regarding the second National lockdown, we have made some changes to the way we operate in line with the new UK restrictions which come into effect from 00:01 Thursday 5th November 2020.
We are deeply saddened by the news of lockdown 2.0 and what has been an extremely difficult year for the hospitality industry. Since we safely reopened our doors on 6th July and welcome back many of our guests for summer staycations, it felt like things were returning to normal. However, the health and wellbeing of our guests, our staff and our community remain the utmost importance to us. Now is the time to come together as a nation and all stay home to help slow the R rate down.
What happens now?
The hotel will remain open for those who have to travel for “work purposes” and for a limited number of other exemptions which have been set out in the law. Accommodation can only be provided to those who:
- Are unable to return to their main residence.
- Use that accommodation as their main residence.
- Need accommodation while moving house or attending a funeral.
- Need to self-isolate as required by law.
- Need accommodation for the purposes of their work, or children who need accommodation for the purposes of education.
- Are elite athletes, their coach or (in the case of an elite athlete who is a child), the parent of an elite athlete, and need accommodation for the purposes of training or competition.
- Are currently in that accommodation at the time when national restrictions come into force.
- Are visiting from abroad on holiday or for work purposes.
- Are being provided accommodation to relieve homelessness.

Food & Drink:
We can safely serve Full English Breakfast and Continental Breakfast to your room as room service. Please complete the breakfast card and hang it outside of your door the night before, alternatively, you can order from the phone in your room. Unfortunately, there will be no other in-room dining menus available during this time.
Our communal areas, such as our lounge or lobby, remain open to guests but no food or drink can be served in these spaces. Guests are required to wear a face-covering or mask inside the hotel public areas at all times and keep a distance of 2 metres.
Business meetings and events may take place with up to a total of 30 people for the purposes of work. Event spaces can be used for reasons permitted by law, including for education and training purposes where reasonably necessary. We have followed the COVID-19 guidance and can safely offer event spaces which allow for social distancing. Each of our event rooms are cleaned, sanitised and sealed before each event, and there is plenty of hand sanitiser available for delegates.

What about my booking?
We are expecting a high level of calls and emails at the moment and we are running with a reduced team, therefore if you have a reservation with us between Thursday 5th November to 2nd December 2020, please bear with us and we will be in contact with you to re-arrange or cancel your booking.
