What’s on this February

After the January blues, February is a month to fall in love with, and quite literally as we celebrate all that Valentine’s Day has to offer. We have rounded up our February must do’s to share with our guests what’s on at Oatlands Park Hotel this month, as well as some of our favourite things to do in the local area.

1. Valentines Cocktail

Valentine’s Day 2022 takes place on Monday 14^th February, so why not make a weekend of it and start the celebrations at Bar 1509 with a tipple or two? Whether you’re staying with us as part of our Valentines Escape package or joining us for Valentines Dinner, our new Valentines cocktail is guaranteed to warm your heart.

Created by our Bar Manager, our Valentines Cocktail is called ‘Gin and Juice’ and is known for its fresh and fruity flavours. It features gin (everyone’s favourite) with St Germain liqueur, fresh strawberries and lemonade. Priced at £14.50 it is available from Bar 1509 from 11^th February.

2. Painshill Park

Romantic walks through the crisp February air don’t get much better than at Painshill Park. The award-winning 18^th century landscaped gardens are a work of art and a sight for the eyes.

Discover the enchanted crystal grotto, fall in love with views of the Serpentine Lake and stand within the romantic Gothic temple, a spot that is well known for its proposals and marriage vows! With so much to take in, we recommend making a whole afternoon of it and taking the time to stop off for a light lunch at Mr Hamilton’s Tea Room.

3. Afternoon Tea

There’s always time for tea and this Valentine’s Day our classic Afternoon Tea gets a romantic twist with Valentines themed cakes hand-made by our Head Pastry Chef.

Indulge with fluffy sandwiches, warm scones with clotted cream and strawberry jam, and delicate cakes and pastries. There’s a Bailey’s chocolate tart, a pistachio macaron, a vanilla panna cotta and a raspberry heart-shaped sponge. And of course, no Afternoon Tea is complete without a glass of bubbles!

Taking place in the beautiful Mulberry Restaurant from Monday 7^th February until Monday 14^th February 2022. £28.95 per person.

4. Winter Staycation

Taking the time to escape and recharge is another one of our February must do’s. Our winter staycation offer is a great way for couples or families to get away this February half term. Start with a 2-course dinner from our a la carte menu and enjoy a sumptuous overnight stay before waking up to full English breakfast and late checkout the next morning.

During your stay take time to explore our gardens and views of Broadwater Lake before warming up with a hot chocolate or coffee at Bar 1509. Just a short drive away are some of Surrey’s top attractions including RHS Wisley, Hampton Court Palace and Brooklands Motor Museum.

Rates start from £129 based on two people sharing a Superior room.

5. Mercedes Benz World

Get your blood pumping this February with an adrenalin-filled track day at Mercedes Benz World in Weybridge. Brooklands is known as the original home of Motor Racing and is just a 14-minute drive from the hotel.

Take the wheel with a fleet of Mercedes Benz cars to choose from or get some practice with their Formula One style Simulators. There’s something for all ages and it is an ideal day out for families or couples this February half term.
