The health and wellbeing of our guests, our staff and our community are of the utmost importance to us. We have implemented additional hygiene and safety measures to ensure a Covid-19 Secure Environment, and we have been awarded the accreditation ‘We’re good to Go’ by Visit England.

From 19th July

Open for business

  • Our hotel is open to all guests for overnight stays.
  • The Mulberry Restaurant is open for lunch, afternoon tea, Sunday lunch and dinner. There is no limit on table numbers.
  • We recommend our staff and guests continue to wear a face coverings when indoors, however this is not mandatory.
  • Wedding Ceremonies, Wedding Receptions and Wakes can take place in our licensed event rooms based on 50% capacity.
  • Business meetings, events and conferences can take place in our event rooms based on 50% capacity.

Step 4 guidance

As most legal restrictions will end from 19th July, including removing social distancing and social contact restrictions within hospitality, the Government has imposed that cautious guidance will remain and will continue to manage the virus and provide guidance over the coming months.

  • Testing when people have symptoms.
  • Isolating when positive or when contacted by NHS Test and Trace or when advised to by the NHS COVID-19 app.
  • The Government recommends that people wear face coverings in crowded areas.
  • We will be allowing plenty of ventilation and letting fresh air into our hotel.
  • The Government recommends minimising the number, proximity and duration of social contacts.

    We have implemented the following hygiene and safety measures to ensure our hotel is a Covid-19 Secure environment. These guidelines will be constantly updated following any new government guidance and regulations. If you still have any questions or concerns, then please contact us.

    Our safety measures

    • Before your visit
      • We politely request that if you, or anyone you have recently been in contact with, are displaying any symptoms of Covid-19, that you call us to postpone your stay/ visit. These include; A high temperature and a persistent cough, fever, breathlessness, sore throat, headache and loss of sense of taste or smell. Where possible please adhere to the 24-hour cancellation policy, until you and your household members have been cleared of symptoms by 14 days.
      • It is mandatory to wear a face covering/ face mask inside our hotel public spaces. Your face covering can be removed when in your bedroom and when using our outdoor spaces. We kindly ask guests to bring their own face covering with them.

    • On Arrival

      From 17th May:

      • All guests must wear a face mask or a face covering before entering the hotel.
      • The reception has been marked out to ensure social distancing, please follow the one-way directional signs in place.
      • Please use the hand sanitiser on arrival.
      • Our Reception Desk is fitted with a Perspex screen and is frequently sanitised with antiviral disinfectant wipes.
      • Please pay using card payments where possible.

      • Please follow social distancing and directional signage to ensure we keep a safe distance.
      • Please use the hand sanitiser on arrival.

    • Your bedroom

      From 17th May:

      • All our room reservations are blocked by 24 hours between guest arrivals and each room is cleaned and sanitised with a high-grade antiviral disinfectant fogger.
      • No access will be made to bedrooms during your stay and your room will be cleaned on departure. Housekeeping or Maintenance will only enter the room on request. If a member of staff needs to enter a room, they will wear PPE and we will ask you to vacate the room prior to our staff entering. If you require additional towels during your stay with us, please let our reception team know and we can deliver these to your room.
      • Housekeeping have been retrained and there is an added extra level of focus on “high-touch, deep clean” areas (light switches, door handles and thermostats).
      • Hotel linen is washed at high temperatures advised by our laundry company.
      • All toiletries are brand new and single-use within each guestroom, please feel free to take any away that are partly used as they will be disposed of when you depart.
      • We have reduced our bedroom amenities (magazines, pens, guest directory, sewing kit) to declutter our rooms for deep cleaning. On request, you can access a digital alternative or the physical items.

      From 19th July:

      • We have resumed our housekeeping and laundry service for all bedrooms.
      • Bedroom amenities (magazines, pens, guest directory, sewing kit) will be reintroduced to the bedrooms.
      • We recommend guests wear a face mask or a face covering when in a crowded or enclosed area.
      • Please follow social distancing and directional signage to ensure we keep a safe distance.
      • Please use the hand sanitiser provided around the hotel.

    • Around the hotel

      From 17th May:

      • It is mandatory to wear a face covering inside our hotel public spaces. Your face covering can be removed when seated in our restaurant, when in your bedroom and when using our outdoor spaces.
      • We have enhanced our cleaning measures within our public areas to include anti-viral cleaning and sanitising on high-touch point areas such as the reception desk, doors, lifts and handrails throughout the day.
      • Signage is in place for everyone to maintain a distance of 1 meter plus within the public areas.
      • Lifts can only be used by 1 person at a time unless they are from the same household.
      • Please use the hand sanitising stations located in the lobby and the restaurant entrance.
      • Our Fitness Suite will remain closed until further notice.

    • Dining with us

      From 17th May:

      • Reservations are limited to a maximum of 2 households and up to 6 people or less.
      • Only table service will be permitted therefore all food and drink orders will need to be placed at the table.
      • Face coverings can be removed when you are seated in the restaurant during eating and drinking.
      • Please use the hand sanitiser on entry.
      • Single-use menus will be in place.
      • All cutlery is cleaned with a UV-C germicidal lamp system that kills bacteria and viruses.

      From 19th July:

      • There is no limit on table numbers, our team will seat your booking accordingly.
      • We offer both table service and bar service.
      • We recommend guests wear a face mask or a face covering when in a crowded or enclosed area.
      • Please follow social distancing and directional signage to ensure we keep a safe distance.
      • Please use the hand sanitiser provided around the hotel.

    • Weddings, meetings and events
      • From 21st June wedding ceremonies, wedding receptions and wakes can go ahead inside in one of our licensed event rooms, based on 50% social distancing capacity.
      • Business meetings and events can take place in one of our event rooms based on 50% capacity.
      • Event rooms and public areas are cleaned and sanitized before each use.
      • Where possible attendees should be provided with staggered arrival times.
      • Event is arranged with allocated seats and table service is provided for all food/ drinks.
      • Dance floors are not permitted and dancing is advised against other than the bride and groom’s first dance.
      • Masks must be worn inside unless seated for food and drink. This does not apply to the married couple or the person officiating.
      • All food and drink must be served to tables.
      • Guest will not be required to sit on socially distanced tables, but they should consider the risks of doing so, as set out in new guidance.
      • Guest books & camera stations should be minimised and hand sanitisation is encouraged before & after use.
      • Advice about the measures adopted to encourage social distancing and good hygiene are provided to attendees and team members ahead of the event. Guests and attendees are advised to bring their own face covering with them and to keep a minimum of 2 meters distance.
      • Congregational and communal singing is strongly advised against. Amateur choirs, bands, or musicians should only perform in a group of up to 6 indoors.
      • Where possible, speeches should be undertaken outside or in well ventilated areas wherever possible.
      • Non-fire doors and windows to be left open (where possible) to reduce the amount of contact with doors and also to increase ventilation.
      • Suppliers and caterers should have all received training and will adhere to Covid-19 risk assessments, Food Hygiene Certificates ect.
      • The venue manager will keep an accurate temporary record of visitors for 21 days to assist the NHS Test and Trace service.

      From 19th July:

      • There is no limit on the capacity of our event spaces. Numbers will be in line with the hotel risk assessments.
      • We recommend guests wear a face mask or a face covering when in a crowded or enclosed area.
      • Please follow social distancing and directional signage to ensure we keep a safe distance.
      • Please use the hand sanitiser provided around the hotel.

    • Our team
      • All team members have completed Covid-19 training in conjunction with Flow Hospitality and will receive ongoing health and safety training.
      • Our staff will have their temperatures checked before each shift and complete a Covid-19 risk disclosure form every 2 weeks.
      • Our staff will be provided with a face mask and hygiene training designed to protect their well-being. Kitchen staff and housekeeping will have enhanced PPE where appropriate.

      From 19th July:

      • Our staff will continue to wear a face mask or a face covering where possible.
      • Our staff will use sanitiser and clean down high-touch point areas with anti-viral sprays.

       

      Covid-19 Secure hotel training

    • What if I develop symptoms?
      • Should a guest have symptoms of Coronavirus during their stay, they must stay in their room and phone Reception as soon as possible to inform us.
      • Guests are advised to call the NHS 111 service for further medical advice and self-isolate for 10 days unless they require an ambulance or hospital admission.
      • All meals will be delivered to the door of the bedroom by a team member wearing PPE.
