There are few British traditions as beloved as Afternoon Tea. Dating back to the 1840s, when the Duchess of Bedford first introduced the ritual of tea and light bites between lunch and dinner, it has remained a symbol of elegance, indulgence and togetherness. At Oatlands Park Hotel, we are proud to continue this heritage, offering guests the chance to savour one of life’s great pleasures in the timeless setting of our historic Surrey hotel.

This season, we are delighted to unveil a brand-new Afternoon Tea menu, carefully crafted by our chefs to bring a fresh twist to this much-loved tradition. Whether you’re planning a celebration, a catch-up with friends, or simply want to treat yourself, our Afternoon Tea promises to be an experience worth lingering over.

Savoury selections to tempt every taste

The heart of any Afternoon Tea lies in its sandwiches and our new menu takes this to another level. Expect the comforting familiarity of Egg Mayonnaise on Spinach bread, alongside the refined pairing of Smoked Salmon and Crème Fraiche on Caraway Bread. For those who prefer something with a little more zest, the Roasted Red Pepper and Hummus on Beetroot bread offers a vibrant, plant-based option full of flavour.

Traditional favourites remain too, with the refreshing crunch of Cucumber and Cream Cheese on Onion bread and the classic Honey Roast Ham Linseed Rollcakes. Each bite-sized creation has been thoughtfully designed to balance taste, texture and presentation — all served on delicate tiered stands that look as good as they taste.

A sweet symphony of treats

Of course, no Afternoon Tea would be complete without an irresistible array of sweet treats and our new menu does not fail to disappoint. Guests can indulge in the rich decadence of Chocolate Profiteroles or the zesty lift of a Lemon Meringue Pie. A tropical fruit shot provides a refreshing burst of flavour while Carrot Cake offers a comforting classic.

For those who adore timeless traditions, our delicate Macaroons are the perfect accompanient to tea. No experience would be complete without freshly baked scones — both plain and fruit — served warm with strawberry jam and clotted cream. Whether you choose to spread the jam or the cream first (the eternal debate continues!), every bite will transport you into the very essence of British indulgence.
